ILI Process
At ILI we give utmost importance to the translation quality irrespective of the size / volume of data in a translation project. Each project, no matter how big or small, is assigned a Project Manager to give the best service / quick turnaround time to the Client. This ensures that the Client has a single point of contact & does not have to explain his / her requirements to multiple people. The Client just needs to interact with the Project Manager, put across special requirements / feedback (if any) and rest all is taken care by our experienced Project Managers.
Extraction Phase
This phase primarily involes extraction of the translate-able text in Source Language from the Input provided by the Client. This may include digitization of hand-written / non-copiable content, extraction of text from various graphical formats like InDesign etc. Multiple Softwares tools may be employed in this phase depending on the format of the Client Input in Source Language.
Translation Phase
Once the translate-able text is available from Phase 1, it is divided amongst multiple translators depending on factors such as :-
-
Text Complexity & Domain: More no. of Translators may be employed incase of simple / trivial text, whereas the no. of translators may be kept minimum for complex technical / legal translation where the 'context / flow' of the text becomes very important while translation.
-
Client Expected Delivery / Turnaround Time: In case the translated text is required urgently by the Client.
ILI employs highly experienced & domain-specific translators to ensure high quality translations. In addition, multiple software / translation memory tools (such as Trados, Corel Catalyst etc) are used to reduce turnaround time without affecting quality.
In order to achieve quality, ILI employs Micro-Proofreading in this phase wherein the translated text is proof-read by Native Target Language Proof Readers as it is translated by the Translators. This removes the possibilty of last minute quality issues, by when whole of the text is already translated. The translation quality is further enhanced in this phase by providing Client-Specific Inputs (glossary, dialect etc.) to our translators.
Formatting / DTP Phase
In this phase, the Translated & Micro-Proofread text from the Translation Phase is reformatted to mimic the Client format (in which it was given to ILI). The Client may also provide his/her inputs in this phase with respect to Special Formatting needs (if any).
Proof-Reading Phase
The aim of ILI Translation Process is to ensure that there is least amount of information loss while translation and semantics of the Source & Translated text remain consistent. With the aim of achieving high-quality translation in target language, the translated (& formatted) text is finally proof-read by Target Language Proof-Readers inorder to ensure high level of Target Language Localization.
